SUMMARY POSITION

The Administrator, Legal Department is responsible for acting as a liaison between assigned legal counsel and the client by providing status updates, documents, and other support, as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Reviews Subrogation, Commercial and General collections accounts to determine whether they meet company and client assignment criteria.
  • Utilizes our established company network to assign accounts to legal counsel and monitors the assigned accounts from referral to closure.
  • Manages accounts to ensure proper follow up and workflow.
  • Organizes documentation that supports liability and balance and reviews documentation for accuracy.  
  • Reviews and responds to attorney and client requests regarding status and documentation via email, phone and fax.
  • Notifies client of any in-person legal proceedings and confirms contact information for attorney assigned.
  • Promptly identifies account issues and ensure quick and proper resolution.
  • Maintain records and documentation of phone calls, letters, emails, and other correspondence pertaining to assigned accounts and files.
  • Completes additional tasks as directed by department supervisor.
  • Able to maintain consistent and regular attendance in accordance with an established schedule.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years of experience in an administrative or clerical position required, previous legal experience a plus.
  • Strong computer experience and knowledge required.
  • Moderate typing skills of 40 WPM preferred.
  • Basic math and written communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with electronic and manual filing systems.
  • Familiarity of legal processes a plus.
  • Dependable, organized and attention to detail.
  • Ability to demonstrate negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Coachable: receptive to feedback, willing to learn, embraces continuous improvement, and responsive to change.

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Paralegal certification a plus.
