Chief Executive Officer

Cascade AIDS Project (CAP) is the oldest and largest AIDS Service Organization (ASO) in Oregon and Southwest Washington that provides the LGBTQ+ community and beyond with compassionate healthcare. CAP’s mission is to promote well-being and advance equity by providing inclusive health and wellness services for LGBTQ+ people, people affected by HIV, and all those seeking compassionate care. Prism Health, Our House, Tod’s Corner and Esthers Pantry are all apart of CAP. ShapeCascade AIDS Project is excited to announce that we are hiring a Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Reporting to the Board of Directors, this role provides strategic and operational leadership for the organization. The CEO is responsible for working with the staff and Board to establish a vision that drives results, deepens our community impact, and ensures our commitment to racial and social justice. This values-based leader will also serve as a credible and effective spokesperson, growing the funding, partnerships, and support required for CAP to continue addressing the most pressing needs of the community

.

This is a Full-Time role based at our Davis St. locations in Portland, Oregon. Applications will be accepted through September 22, 2025. The starting salary is $175,000-$225,000 a year depending on experience.

  • You are skilled at building coalitions and partnerships while increasing revenue from diverse funding streams, including foundations, government contracts, and private fundraising.
  • You are self-reflective. Others would say you are able to reflect on past mistakes, understand and mitigate the harm that occurred, and move forward with a new perspective.
  • You are skilled at and enjoy working with colleagues who belong to different ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural groups than you.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Provide strategic vision and focus to guide a dynamic, mission-oriented organization.
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson and brand ambassador to enhance visibility, influence public opinion, and build public awareness of CAP.
  • Lead efforts to attract new partners, advocates, and donors to grow and sustain the organization's funding base.
  • Foster an inclusive and accountable workplace culture that values diversity, teamwork, restorative justice, and mutual respect.
  • Be responsible for all aspects of the organization, including managing five direct reports and overseeing a staff of nearly 200 employees across Oregon and Washington.
  • Further advocacy, advantageous public policies, and community awareness by building constructive relationships with funders, civic leaders, and government decision-makers.
  • Guide the organization through uncertain changes and crises, ensuring it remains nimble and responsive to evolving community needs.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors, staff, and partners to develop and advance CAP’s strategic plan.
  • Oversee labor-management relations, including the negotiation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
