Roller Operator - Asphalt Paving Crew

Capital Paving and Construction is seeking an experienced Asphalt Roller Operator to work with our paving crew on projects in and around the Springfield, MO area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate roller to achieve compaction and smoothness
• Maintain daily equipment maintenance including, fueling, watering, checking oil, and greasing equipment
• Provide preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is safe and operating properly
• Regularly clean equipment to preserve its quality and functionality
• Perform minor repairs on equipment issues. Report needs for larger repairs to the appropriate parties
• Commit to the overall safety of the work environment by always taking extra precautions to work with the utmost care and consideration
• Perform general laborer duties when not operating the roller

REQUIREMENTS:

• 2+ years or more of industry related experience is required, with an emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges.
• Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards
• Ability to maintain, inspect, clean, and occasionally repair equipment
• Attention to detail and situational awareness to maintain the safety of the work environment
• Strong work ethic and physical ability to lift 50+ pounds
• Able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Must be willing to work at night and travel when required
• Must show up to work on time at the designated meeting spot.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical
