Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Sport Management or closely related field is required by the start date. Candidates that are ABD will be considered.
- Candidates must be able to teach classes within the sport discipline at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
Duties:
The successful candidate will develop and teach courses within the sport management discipline such as Intro to Sport Management, Facilities & Event Management, Governance in Sport Management, Sport Communication, Sport Media, Sport Marketing & Sponsorship, Sport Law & Ethics, Sport Management Capstone Seminar, among other sport related courses. Courses taught will be at both the undergraduate level and at the graduate level as assigned to qualified individuals. Courses may be taught during the traditional day format as well as evening/online/blended formats as assigned. The successful candidate may be asked to engage in interdisciplinary teaching outside the academic department.
The successful candidate will be expected to advise undergraduate and graduate students, participate in faculty committee work and faculty development, and engage in scholarship as well as service to the broader community.
Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with departmental colleagues in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
Candidates must also be able to demonstrate experience and/or willingness to work with recruiting, to network with the community, and to participate in the administrative responsibilities of an academic unit, including, but not limited to, assessment, faculty development, and program initiatives.
