Senior Controller
Department: Finance
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: RK Supply – Odessa, Tx
Position Summary:
The Senior Controller oversees all accounting and financial operations for RK Supply, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity in all financial reporting. This position plays a key leadership role in developing and maintaining internal controls, managing the accounting team, and supporting executive management with financial insights to guide strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and inventory accounting.
- Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax and reporting requirements across Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit and tax preparation processes.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with the CFO and department heads.
- Monitor budget performance, identify variances, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Analyze financial trends and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support business planning and decision-making.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Evaluate and improve financial systems, procedures, and reporting tools for greater efficiency.
- Lead the implementation of new financial software or ERP systems as needed.
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training and performance feedback.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the finance team.
- Collaborate with operations, HR, and procurement to ensure alignment between financial management and company goals.
Strategic Support
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support expansion projects, capital expenditures, and business growth initiatives.
- Serve as a key advisor to senior management on financial risk management and cost control strategies.
- Assist the CFO with investor, banking, and audit relationships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or controller role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and multi-state tax compliance.
- Experience in distribution, supply chain, or oilfield services industry preferred.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Enterprise, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems) and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
