Job Description Summary
Assist the teacher in providing a nurturing, safe, consistent learning environment to enhance the skills of every child. Help with the preparation of materials for daily activities and adheres to the cleaning and sanitizing requirements to ensure a clean working and learning environment.Â

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Adapt to the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive developmental needs of each child. Assure the developmental progression of all children.
- Contributes to documenting observations, gathering and organizing portfolio work samples, completing assessments, planning weekly lesson plans, etc.
- Monitor the cleanliness and organization of the classroom to ensure the safety and mobility of each child.
- Assist with implementing the curriculum to meet the requirements of the Head Start Performance Standards.
- Be a good role model and build positive, professional relations with the children and families.
- Understand and promote school readiness for children.
- Assist in the active supervision of children to ensure safety at all times.
- Be able to quickly adjust to changing work environments and take on a more leadership role when the teacher is absent.Â
- Promote parent involvement in the program.
