Description

Job Purpose: The Maintenance Technician is a professional who plays a proactive and reactive role for our portfolio of facilities, staff, and clients. We ask our maintenance team to have a practical mind and keen attention to detail. This position executes preventive maintenance as well as manual repairs and projects as necessary.
Essential Job Functions:

  • Performs maintenance of electrical systems (i.e. replace light fixtures, bulbs, GFI outlets, bulbs, sockets, etc.)
  • Maintains heating and plumbing systems to ensure proper functionality.
  • Performs monthly inspections at multiple facilities and maintain documentation.
  • Inspects alarm systems and schedule repairs when needed.
  • Maintains and repairs locks, locking mechanisms, doors, and closers.
  • Performs and or assists with room and apartment turnovers (i.e. disposal of property, cleaning, painting, etc.).
  • Performs manual repairs (i.e. fix locks, painting, carpentry, unplug stopped drains, equipment repair, cubicle station modifications, etc.).Assists with furniture, appliance, office furniture and equipment delivery, moves and disposal.
  • Complies with all policies for the storage, usage, and removal of hazardous materials.
  • Conducts general upkeep procedures (i.e. landscaping, snow removal, etc.).
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Performs special assignments and or projects as assigned.
  • Participates in a on-call rotation for after hours emergency response for maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure and Credentials: (Where appropriate, education and/or experience may be substituted)
Minimum Required Education: None
Minimum Required Experience: Minimum of five years maintenance and/or commercial experience
Required License – Certification – Registration: Issued By Governing Body (if applicable): N/A
Travel Type: Up to 50%
Required Valid Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license
Required Auto Insurance: Vehicle liability insurance in accordance with Agency policy
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • A knowledge of various trades (i.e. electrical, plumbing, and HVAC).
  • Must be skilled at using hand and power tools and test equipment; and be able to trouble shoot and diagnose equipment problems, research replacement parts, make repairs and properly maintain records.
  • Must be a team player, self-starter and can work with individuals who have special needs and disabilities.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Able to respond to emergency situations in accordance with training received.
  • Take appropriate on call rotation as required.
  • Pool system experience would be beneficial.
  • Experience maintaining or working in CBRF setting a plus.
  • Working with people: Communicates effectively, acts with professionalism and integrity, adapts to change and exhibits self confidence

Physical Requirements, Visual Acuity, and Work Conditions:
Physical Requirements
: Exerting up to 50-100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, in a variety of situations, including using stairs or during inclement weather and team-lift 100 pounds. Moving about, fingering, picking, pinching, grasping items, typing, or otherwise working. Must be able to safely access equipment in small areas such as closets, under desks, etc. Must be able to ascend and descend a ladder. Talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing, perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
Working Conditions: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
