The Role

Accounting Interns will participate in the preparation of journal entries and financial reports, analyze actual financial data, learn more about bookkeeping software, and assist with other accounting activities while working alongside staff, managers, and partners during this 10-week internship. Our interns become part of the team from day one. We offer a robust onboarding period where interns gain professional learning and understanding of the systems used on a daily basis. As they gain experience, interns are given more difficult assignments and greater responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records
• Utilize bookkeeping software to prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, invoices, and other documents
• Exhibit a basic understanding of GAAP and financial principles
• Learn how to work as part of the accounting team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company or clients

Qualifications

• Pursuing or graduate of an undergraduate or master’s degree in accounting
• Completion of Intermediate I Accounting class by time of internship
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work 40-55 hours per week, dependent upon departmental workflow requirements
