The Global Account Manager (GAM) is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the overall strategic direction, executive relationship management, and financial performance (P&L) of assigned global, multi-site customer accounts. As the primary executive interface between East West and key clients, the GAM will drive profitable growth, ensure exceptional customer satisfaction, and act as the customer's advocate within East West. This role demands a seasoned professional with significant P&L ownership experience, a proven ability to cultivate C-suite relationships, and a track record of expanding business within complex global accounts. The GAM will leverage East West’s full suite of integrated services to deliver strategic value and achieve mutual success.

 

 

Strategic Account Leadership & P&L Ownership (40%)

  • Develop, implement, and own the multi-year strategic plan for assigned global accounts, aligning with overall company objectives.
  • Assume full P&L responsibility for the account portfolio, including revenue forecasting, profitability analysis, budgeting, margin enhancement, and cost management.
  • Drive financial performance through strategic pricing, contract negotiation, and management of commercial terms (MSA, MPPA).
  • Analyze account performance metrics, identify trends, and proactively implement corrective actions or growth strategies.
  • Lead complex contract negotiations and ensure adherence to commercial agreements.
  • Oversee financial aspects like Accounts Receivable, inventory management (excess/obsolete), and NRE collection in partnership with finance and operations.

 

Executive Relationship Management & Business Development (40%)

  • Cultivate and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key executives (C-suite, VP level) within customer organizations, acting as the primary spokesperson for East West.
  • Deeply understand the customer's business strategy, market dynamics, challenges, and opportunities to position East West as a strategic partner.
  • Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities and service expansions within existing global accounts to achieve significant revenue growth.
  • Lead the development and presentation of strategic proposals and value propositions tailored to executive audiences.
  • Organize and lead impactful executive-level Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), focusing on strategic alignment, performance, and future opportunities.
  • Represent East West at industry events and customer forums to enhance company perception and network strategically.

 

Cross-Functional Leadership & Customer Advocacy (15%)

  • Lead and orchestrate virtual account teams across East West (Sales, Program Management, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality) to ensure seamless execution and delivery of commitments.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for critical customer issues, driving resolution with internal teams and communicating effectively with customer executives.
  • Champion customer needs and priorities within East West, ensuring internal alignment and resource allocation to support account strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer goals and KPIs are met or exceeded, fostering a culture of customer-centricity.

 

Cultural Embodiment & Continuous Improvement (5%)

  • Embody and promote East West’s core values, collaborative culture, and strategic vision.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of account management processes and best practices within East West.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

  • 4-Year degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is required; MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in strategic sales, business development, or global account management within the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), contract manufacturing, or a closely related technology/manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully managing large, complex, multi-site global accounts.
  • Important: Proven experience with full P&L ownership and accountability for multi-million dollar accounts.
  • Verifiable success in developing and closing new business opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Exceptional executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to confidently engage and influence C-level executives.
  • Strong financial acumen, including P&L analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic pricing.
  • Advanced negotiation skills, particularly for complex, high-value contracts and commercial terms.
  • Strategic thinking and planning capabilities with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain dynamics, and the EMS industry landscape.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and results-driven global environment
  • Significant domestic and international travel required (estimated 15-30%) to meet with customers, visit manufacturing sites, and attend industry events.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
