Process Engineer

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Testing:

• Provide support for PCBA processes.
• Assist Quality department with RMAs.
• Conducting tests and monitoring process.
• Troubleshooting problems associated with manufacturing.
• Write and perform equipment validations as necessary.

Monitoring Equipment and Operators:

• Ensure operators adhere to IPC Standards.
• Ensure all production equipment is maintained.
• Research and recommend manufacturing equipment and plant layout.

Updating System Processes:

• Provide advanced technical support for PCBA manufacturing processes.
• Assist with programming of SMT equipment and procurement of tooling when required.
• Provide first article inspection for (FAI) documents for new products.
• Conducting research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing.

Risk Assessment:

• Review process documentation for accuracy and efficiency.
• Evaluate operator skill and suggest additional training if necessary.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

• An associate degree in an Engineering discipline, bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge base in electronic components.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a process technician in PCBA manufacturing.
• Experience working for an electronic contract manufacturer is a plus.
• Experience in IPC A-610 and J-STD-001
• Ability to work effectively with other functional departments and customers when required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and decision-making skills.
• Must be computer literate including MS Office.
