Position Overview: The Manager in Training Internship at Augusta Country Club offers an immersive and comprehensive learning experience designed for junior and senior hospitality majors. Reporting to the Clubhouse Manager and/or Director of Clubhouse Operations, the selected individual will undergo rotations across various departments within the Country Club. This internship aims to provide hands-on training and exposure to different facets of club management, including Food & Beverage, Golf, Fitness, Tennis, Aquatics, Finance & Human Resources, and Clubhouse & Security Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in rotations with different departments to gain insights into their operations and management.
  • Assist in the day-to-day activities of each department, including customer service, administrative tasks, and project management.
  • Shadow and learn from department heads and staff members to understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with team members to accomplish departmental projects and goals.
  • Attend manager meetings and provide detailed observational notes.
  • Analyze and critique the club's presence on social media platforms.
  • Develop budgets for specific departments or programs within the club.
  • Create employee schedules for various departments.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using at least one technology system relevant to club operations.
  • Work with the team on a community-oriented project to demonstrate social responsibility.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a junior, senior, or graduate student majoring in Hospitality Management, seeking to fulfill an internship degree requirement.
  • Must have a flexible work schedule, as departmental needs and training opportunities may vary. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Class schedules will be considered when scheduling work hours. 
  • This internship requires in-person work at Augusta Country Club; remote work is not available.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with club members, guests, and staff.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various teams and departments, demonstrating adaptability and a positive attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail, ensuring high standards of service and operations are maintained.
  • Basic proficiency in relevant technology systems and software, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new tools as required.
