Adjunct Instructor of Statistics
Position Purpose:
Cumberland University seeks applications for an Adjunct Instructor of Statistics. Duties will include teaching courses in quantitative methods and statistics at the undergraduate level in both the Psychology and Mathematics programs.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication, teaching, and presentation skills are required.
- Must be able to use university systems for email communications and to electronically enter attendance, midterm grades, and final grades. Training will be provided.
- Demonstrated inter- and intrapersonal skills, especially in engaging with traditional and non-traditional university students.
- Evidence of high level of personal agency and initiative.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Successful use of multiple creative instructional strategies and technologies in the classroom and online to improve educational outcomes of diverse learners.
- Familiarity with SPSS and/or Excel for statistical analysis.
Experience:
Previous university teaching online and in-person preferred.
Education:
Master’s Degree required for teaching of undergraduate courses. Must have a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in statistics and/or research methods.
Additional Information:
This position is only available to those who can teach in person at the Lebanon, TN campus in the Fall and Spring semesters. Additional online teaching opportunities may be available for those teaching in person.
