Job Summary:
This position will transition its job duties as time moves on. Initially, installing the equipment at the Hopkinsville facility will be the focus, providing input as to how to do this in the safest, most efficient manner. This will consist of implementing improvements to initial design (if needed) and managing contractors through project completion. During the early stages, this position will help with projects at other facilities (remotely), due to activity at Hopkinsville being slower during the design and equipment manufacturing phases. During this time, hiring of team members will be done as well as implementing a preventive / predictive maintenance program. Once the facility begins production, implementing programs, such as preventive maintenance, to continuously improve productivity and quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- During construction phase, will ensure safety of contractors and employees
- Project management, making sure the project stays “on-time” and within budget
- Key liaison between Plant Manager & Maintenance / Manufacturing Engineering departments
- Review proposed projects with plant operations, maintenance, and safety
- Lead Project Risk Review sessions for risk identification and mitigation plan
- Critical to plant's capital expenditures, maintenance expenditures, production equipment, etc
- Coaches / develops engineering / maintenance staff to ensure reliability
- Operational leadership of projects using maintenance & manufacturing engineers
- Oversees preventive / predictive maintenance programs, reducing downtime
- 5S compliance
- Oversees departmental budgets
- Focus on operational improvements, resulting in higher product quality and productivity

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Work experience in the pipe manufacturing industry is required, with specific knowledge of heat treating, drawing, stretch reducing, and straightening (pilger experience a plus); Bachelor's degree from four-year accredited college or university (or equivalent experience), with Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred; managing large scale capital projects and Continuous Improvement activities
