Description

Responsibilities 

  • Conduct task analysis, identify critical tasks and document use-related hazards. 
  • Conduct preliminary analyses which may include but are not limited to heuristic evaluations, expert reviews, cognitive walkthroughs and simulated use studies.
  • Create and maintain documents related to all HF and Usability engineering activities.
  • Contribute to the risk management process by developing and validating mitigations.
  • Plan, execute, and document Formative Evaluations and Summative Human Factors Validation. 
  • Identify opportunities for creating solutions that are both patient-centric and compliant with FDA guidance for Human Factors as part of the product development team

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Factors Engineering, Ergonomics, Industrial Design, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 
    • 5+ years of experience in human factors engineering, preferably in the medical device industry.
    • Human factors R&D experience in the medical device industry.
  • Knowledge:  Strong understanding of human factors engineering principles, user-centered design, and usability testing methodologies. Familiarity with medical device regulations and standards is essential.
