Job Summary
The Optometric Technician works closely with the Optometrist to provide excellent eye care for the health center patients. This position will conduct pretesting and record findings in the EHR; help patients with frame and lens selection and take accurate measurements; order glasses; make and confirm appointments; notify patients when glasses are ready, and provide patients with education on how to care for/clean their glasses. The Op-Tech will also be responsible for maintaining clean equipment and organizing the office environment.

Performs diagnostic tests: Assists in conducting various eye tests, including visual field tests, retinal imaging, tonometry, and corneal topography under the guidance of the optometrist.

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling and stooping all day, but may also involve long periods of sitting or computer-based work.
