Credit Underwriter III - Job ID: 666

We are seeking an experienced Credit Underwriter III, with expertise in managing major accounts. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of credit risk assessment and financial services, Fintech experience is a plus. The Underwriter III will be responsible for evaluating creditworthiness, analyzing financial data, mitigating risks, and supporting the growth of the business.

What You Will Do:

• Responsible for full cycle analysis of assigned small business financing, ensuring adherence to company policies and risk tolerance
• Analyze financial statements, cash flow, and other key performance indicators to assess risk exposure
• Conduct in-depth financial and business analysis on clients, including reviewing balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Develop and implement credit strategies and policies to mitigate risk while maximizing profitability
• Provide recommendations for approval or declines of merchant applications
• Stay up to date with market trends, regulatory changes, and industry’s best practices, particularly in the financial services and fintech sectors
• Communicate decisions effectively in both verbal and written communication
• Perform other due diligence as needed to determine the creditworthiness of a small business owner

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or comparable area of study
• 5-7 years of experience in credit underwriting, with a focus on large accounts or high-value portfolios in financial services
• Strong analytical skills include the ability to read and assess individual and company financial statements, cash flow, credit reports, and other financial documentation.
• Proficient in various spreadsheet, word processing, and CRM applications
• Solid knowledge of credit principles, lending operations, loan research, and general credit policies
• Team player with the ability to take the initiative
• Detail oriented and the ability to work well under pressure
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism

Kapitus Total Rewards Package Includes: 

• Competitive Base Salary Range of $78,900 -$121,800 Kapitus is providing this as a good faith salary range to comply with applicable law. The applicant’s final salary will depend on a number of factors including the applicant’s geographic location, skills, and experience
