Description

Essential Functions

  • Portray a positive attitude under all circumstances, understand and represent the core values of Apache Casino Hotel and live the mission of always providing exceptional service
  • Read, write and speak English sufficiently to understand menus, special promotions, and communicate with guests to explain and record orders  
  • Remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items including desserts
  • Ability to transport up to 50 pounds through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout a shift
  • Greet guests promptly, in a friendly and courteous manner, addressing the guest by name whenever possible.  Explain specials and/or restaurant promotions to create guest awareness
  • Record food and beverage orders accurately using a guest check/ticket, repeating information back to the guest, and presenting legible and accurate guest checks/tickets to the kitchen, providing additional information regarding the order as necessary
  • Check completed orders for accuracy prior to serving.  Deliver food promptly, serving hot food hot and cold food cold, and include appropriate condiments.  Lift trays weighing up to 30 pounds. 
  • Abide by all liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
  • Timely replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction
  • Market and serve dessert items and specialty coffees
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette, service ware and appropriate table settings                                                 
  • Ability to operate beverage and toast equipment
  • Promptly present guest check and accurately process cash, credit card and/or voucher transactions following established protocols
  • Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness
  • Understand and comply with the Eye, Hi, Goodbye program.
  • Regular attendance is required.

 

Supportive Functions

  • Supplement bus person in clearing and resetting the tables
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using Apache Casino Hotel products as assigned to adhere to cleanliness and health standards
  • Perform assigned side work to include replenishing condiments, restocking side stands and folding napkins
  • Report any suspicious persons or activity immediately to a supervisor
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor, including cross-training                                             
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/casino industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to meet the business needs of Apache Casino Hotel.  We are busiest during weekends and holidays, events, and peak seasons as they occur. There is a reasonable expectation you will be scheduled on duty and/or “on-call” during any of these times.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential job functions.

 

While performing job duties the team member may occasionally sit, and uses hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The team member is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods, and to walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The team member may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

The team member will be exposed to various foods and chemicals as well as latex. While performing job duties the team member is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between buildings and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands. The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate, and there are fluctuations in lighting due to flashing lights from slot machines and band lighting.

 

At a minimum, the selected candidate will be required to pass a background check and drug-screening test and following hire will be required to obtain a local food handler permit and an Oklahoma ABLE license.

  • Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, with a high school diploma or GED preferred
  • No prior experience required, but previous hospitality experience is preferred
