The following position is open with the Fort Sill Apache Gaming Commission:

Position: Gaming Commissioner #5

Salary: $1000 stipend per month

Term:  Appointment to fulfill the remainder of a three-year term ending June 30, 2026

Summary:

The Fort Sill Apache Gaming Commission is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Gaming Commissioner #5.  This is an appointed position responsible for overseeing and regulating gaming activities to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, thereby safeguarding the integrity and assets of the Fort Sill Apache Tribe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend quarterly in-person Commission meetings and monthly virtual meetings.

• Review and evaluate gaming policies and procedures, including:

  • Fort Sill Apache Tribal Ordinance

  • National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS)

  • State of Oklahoma Tribal-State Compact regulations

  • Fort Sill Apache Gaming Commission Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS)

• Review and access new and renewal gaming license applications for suitability.

• Participate in at least one annual training on gaming regulatory issues.

• Draft and review regulatory documents and make formal presentations.

Conflict of Interest Notice:

Commissioners may hold other Tribal positions and may engage in business and gaming activities, except in operations authorized by this Ordinance.  Commissioners and their immediate family members may not own an interest in or participate in gaming operations regulated by the Fort Sill Apache Tribal Gaming Ordinance.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening to obtain a gaming license.
• Non-member of the Fort Sill Apache Tribe.
• Management or regulatory experience in the private sector or with a governmental or Tribal agency is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and email communication.
