SUMMARY:

Responsible for the repair and maintenance of all electronic gaming devices (EGD’s) under the direction of the Slot Technical Supervisor.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs all of the duties of Slot Technician I and Slot Technician II
  • Must be motivated, possess the ability to multi-task, self-starter team player.
  • May occasionally act as a specialist in either mechanical or electronic areas.
  • May utilize shop machines to fabricate standard or routine parts.
  • Must have some knowledge of data communication circuits and devices.
  • Use o-scope, soldering iron, cap tester
  • Repair backlights and touchscreens on displays, card readers, and monitors
  • Troubleshoot and performs all aspects of monitor/CTR/LCD repair.
  • Troubleshoot and repair power supplies
  • Diagnose Electronic Gaming Device malfunctions
  • Perform comprehensive electronic circuit board repairs and replace circuit boards which have caused malfunctions.
  • Work autonomously/performing MOST tasks without being micro-managed
  • Look up part numbers for components and send purchase requests
  • Rework GPU’s (fan and cap replacement)
  • Must be able to shoot firmware code to printers, bill validators and other peripherals
  • Troubleshoots and repairs slot machines, slot system equipment, and casino related electronic components to the component level.
  • Replace parts and circuit boards which have caused malfunctions.
  • Make sure components are working properly on the slot floor (monitors, printers, bill-validators, player panels) If they are not then swap them with good parts or create, generate, and communicate work orders.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend parts manuals, schematics, and multi meters.
  • Must possess the ability to learn new slot technology through media and training programs keeping abreast of the latest vendor technology.
  • Must maintain familiarity with games in order to provide great guest service as well as resolve guest disputes as needed.
  • Circulate the casino floor to fix any problems and maintain appearance of slot machines and replacing broken or burned-out bulbs and rubbing reels.
  • Performs RAM clears/upgrades on slot machines as well as TITO and coin tests
  • Must be able to troubleshoot at the system level (isolating bad parts within a system)
  • Expected to seek knowledge and learn and demonstrate increased proficiency in the use of all equipment and procedures relevant to the job title
  • Handle floor repair and proper preventative maintenance of all slot machines, including cleaning machines, overhauls kiosks, moves, conversions, and other activities as assigned in accordance with gaming regulations.
  • Troubleshoot/repair electronic buttons (BB2 button panel/IGT dynamic buttons touchscreen panels)
  • Keep up with technician shop inventory (this includes notifying a low parts state and auditing the inventory regularly)
  • Must be able to keep a cost analysis log of parts repaired (excel spreadsheet provided)
  • Must be able to maintain required documentation of slot moves, maintenance and repair logs, and purchase orders and requisitions for slot machine parts and supplies.
  • Responsible for reviewing reports and statistical data for malfunctions or other problems and implementing appropriate maintenance and repair lists.
  • Must be able to locate parts from vendors as needed.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot at the component level (isolating bad components within a part)
  • Perform installation, conversions, relocations, and removals of slot machines.
  • Delegates tasks to Slot Technician I’s and Slot Technician II’s and trains them on any new procedures that need to be performed.
  • Must maintain excel log sheets and is responsible for auditing logs (this includes making sure that the inventory is current and the 10-7 list is accurate).
  • Assist Slot Floor Cashiers when needed and requested by Slot Shift Managers.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends, flexible shifts and/or unusual hour.
  • Understand and comply with the Eye, Hi, Goodbye program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be able to work effectively with peers, staff members, and regulatory agency personnel.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • An attitude for learning and adaptability to solving new problems
  • Certification in an electronics technical field or equivalent experience
  • An optimistic outlook and a strong, team-centered personality
  • Adept at using Microsoft spreadsheets
  • Requires the knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with personal computers, AV systems, player tracking card systems, gaming devices, safety equipment, etc.
  • Knowledge of various types of electronic gaming equipment used on casino floor and demonstrate the skills and ability to diagnose problems, take corrective action necessary, and ensure device is operational as quickly and efficiently as practical.
  • Must have completed and passed all in-house training, testing, and practical exams for Slot Technician I and Slot Technician II.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Fort Sill Apache Gaming License.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and talk or hear.  Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to lift a maximum of 30 lbs. and push, pull, or drag up to 100 lbs. Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The team member must be able to work with various hand tools and power tools.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between buildings and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands. The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The team member may be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve issues with extremely irate or difficult guests or staff members. The noise level in the work environment varies from moderate to loud. Flashing lights from slot machines and band lighting. The team member must have the ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive environment.
