Description

Maclay School seeks a passionate, organized, and experienced individual to serve as the Head Coach for its Varsity Track & Field program during the spring athletic season. This is a seasonal community coaching position, ideal for an individual committed to student development, sportsmanship, and athletic excellence. The Head Coach will be responsible for the overall leadership, planning, and execution of the track and field program, in alignment with Maclay School’s mission and values.

Time Commitment & Compensation

  • Seasonal position: October to January

  • Practices are held after school hours, with occasional weekend meets.

  • Stipend compensation provided commensurate with experience and school scale.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Proven experience coaching high school or collegiate-level track and field athletes.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a head coaching or coordinator role.

  • Strong knowledge of track and field disciplines, training cycles, and athlete development strategies.

  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and parents in a school community.

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain prior to the season).

  • FHSAA compliance certification or ability to complete FHSAA Coaching Education Requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • USATF or USTFCCCA coaching certification.

  • Collegiate track and field experience (as an athlete or coach).

  • Experience coaching multiple event groups and managing assistant coaches.

  • Familiarity with meet management software (e.g., MileSplit, Athletic.net).
