Required Credentials and Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education or a closely related field.

Valid Florida Teaching Certificate in Physical Education or a current Statement of Eligibility from the Florida Department of Education.

Demonstrated experience and commitment to working with early childhood and elementary-aged children in an educational or coaching environment.

Proven ability to differentiate instruction and modify activities for students with diverse physical abilities and needs.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with students, families, colleagues, and community members.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

Ability to actively supervise and engage with students in indoor and outdoor physical education settings.

Frequent walking, running, standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, and reaching throughout the school day.

Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Sufficient physical stamina to lead classes, model athletic activity, and manage recess or playground environments.

Adequate visual and auditory acuity to ensure student safety and deliver instruction effectively.

Work occurs primarily in gymnasiums, athletic fields, and outdoor spaces; weather exposure is frequent.

Occasional after-school and weekend commitments for events or supervision may be required.
