POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the YMCA Tree Lot Manager, this position is responsible for unloading, trimming, standing, and selling Christmas Trees and other sales items. Staff will load trees on cars and assist with assigned tree deliveries. Staff is required to follow all safety procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Participate in 100% of staff orientation and staff trainings.
- Responsible for working all scheduled shifts.
- Arrive to work on time, in appropriate uniform in cold weather and rain.
- Review & approve your hours and make any notes in Dayforce.
- In an emergency, notify Lot Manager regarding any changes in hours of availability or work schedule.
- Breaks must be approved and scheduled by lot manager.
- Knowledge of tag system (Sold, Delivery)
- Assist with Tree Deliveries upon request of Lot Manager.
- Help unload trees and set them up for sale.
- Greet customers throughout the day and help sell trees when needed.
- Arrive on time according to work schedule.
- Assist in delivering trees to customers’ homes.
- Engage in general maintenance around the tree lot.
- Maintain equipment and keep the lot clean and safe.
- Assist customers with loading of trees onto or into the customer’s vehicles.
- Trim, drill and stand Christmas trees.
- Assist Director/Tree Lot Manager in communication, logistics and administrative support for the tree lot, as assigned.
- Assist Director/Tree Lot Manager in ensuring that appropriate logistical details are communicated to members and customers.
- Ensure that tree lot facility is set-up according to specifications.
- Create a warm and welcoming environment by warmly greeting all members/customers.
- Demonstrate positive character values and integrity.
- Ensure that facilities are clean and free of safety hazards.
- Provide excellent customer service and cultivate a fun, friendly and safe environment.
- Monitor the facility and/or event area and respond to inquiries by providing accurate and thorough information at all times.
- Respond promptly and courteously to customer complaints, compliments and inquiries while following the appropriate procedures at all times.
- Comply with and enforce all branch policies and best practices. Positively interpret these policies and practices to members.
- Demonstrate appropriate professionalism and initiative and execute all responsibilities with a focus on achieving Association goals and objectives.
- Report incidents, equipment or facility issues, policy violations and unusual situations to the appropriate supervisor/director/tree lot manager.
- Maintain a professional appearance and wear the uniform that is provided to you.
- All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
