Job Description & Duties:
Production Shift Supervisor plays a crucial role in implementing and maintaining safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment. The Production Shift Supervisor oversees daily operations, ensuring efficient production processes and adherence to quality standards. They coordinate with departmental supervisors to optimize workflow, manage resources, and address any issues that may arise.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensuring compliance with prescribed safety standards.
• Overall responsibility for the shift production, in line with the plant performance parameters and for aligning the production staff to short-term and long-term objectives. Continually improves performance to benchmark levels and heads improvement drives.
• Ensuring compliance with quality standards.
• Lead shift plant production personnel in day-to-day activities to ensure the quality goods are produced and delivered as per the plan. Responsible for ensuring that the product being manufactured meets the company’s Quality standards, policies and practices.
• Ensure that all staff are suitably trained/qualified/licensed for the various tasks and jobs they must complete.
• Monitors and ensures proper housekeeping.
• Schedule weekly manpower and vacations.
• Review Accident Investigation Reports. Address potential hazards through maintenance repairs and work orders. Annually review and update Job Safety Analyses and attend crew meetings to review them with crews.
• Conduct transferred, as well as new employee orientation training.
Qualifications and Competencies:
• Several years of experience in a manufacturig or production environment.
• Previous production supervisory experience highly encouraged.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Time management, multitasking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Technical ability to work with production processes, machinery and equipment.
Work Environment:
• Work in a production facility exposed to cold, heat, and humidity.
• Requires standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods.
• Shift work required, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
