As a Prep Cook, you play a foundational role in the kitchen by ensuring ingredients are properly prepared, organized, and ready for service. You support the culinary team by executing precise prep tasks that ensure the smooth operation of the line. The ideal candidate is efficient, detail-oriented, and committed to food safety and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately wash, chop, measure, and prepare ingredients according to standardized recipes and specifications
- Label, date, and store prepped items in accordance with food safety standards
- Follow detailed prep lists and prioritize tasks to meet kitchen needs
- Maintain par levels of prepared items to support uninterrupted line service
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including slicers, mixers, and blenders
- Assist with basic cooking tasks such as blanching, portioning, and marinating
- Keep prep area clean, sanitized, and organized at all times
- Support line cooks and chefs as needed during service periods
- Comply with all Clark County Health Department and internal food safety regulations
- Follow hand-washing, cleaning, and sanitizing protocols consistently
Accountabilities
- Wear and maintain the proper uniform in accordance with restaurant standards
- Maintain a clean and organized prep station from start to finish of shift
- Properly rotate inventory and minimize waste through accurate prep and storage
- Communicate proactively with kitchen team about shortages or prep needs
- Be reliable and punctual for all scheduled shifts
