Position: Development Associate

Reports to: Director of Development
Salary: $28 - $31 per hour

The position includes employer-paid medical, dental, and vision. Food For Thought provides a 403b retirement account with a 5% employer-paid contribution. There are approximately 13 paid holidays, 12 sick days, and 10 paid vacation days (to start) per year.
Organization Description
Food For Thought (FFT) is a nonprofit that provides comprehensive nutrition services to people in Sonoma County affected by serious medical conditions. Our services include medically tailored weekly groceries and prepared meals, vitamins and supplements, and nutrition education. We are located in Forestville in a beautiful building surrounded by organic gardens. FFT operates with a staff of 27 and over 700 volunteers. Position Summary
This position will work collaboratively with FFT’s Development Department staff (consisting of a development director, grants manager, and events manager) to support and coordinate a variety of fundraising and communications efforts. The development associate is responsible for providing administrative support to the development department. Job duties include data entry, printing of thank you letters, email processing, and administrative support of events and ongoing activities of the agency.
Position Responsibilities
- Be the point person for all development-related emails and phone calls.
- Enter gift donations into Salesforce in a timely manner and generate acknowledgement letters.
- Conduct donor thank you calls and facilitate volunteer assistance with this task.
- Assist with department mailings by pulling reports, conducting mail merges, and preparing letters.
- Assist with event planning and implementation, including support for both major events, Our Long Table and Dining Out For Life, as well as smaller events.
- Conduct outreach, engagement, and stewardship activities with local service clubs.
- Assist with editing communications and occasional social media marketing support.
- Represent FFT at occasional community outreach and networking events.
- Provide administrative support to the department, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, taking meeting notes, and organizing files.
