Description

Looking for a career where community and connection come first? Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union (TVFCU) is seeking a Community Outreach Liaison to help strengthen relationships and enhance our presence across the region. With $2.6 billion in assets and more than 167,000 members, TVFCU is a trusted, award-winning financial institution serving the Tennessee Valley and surrounding areas. In this role, you'll represent TVFCU at local events, lead sponsorship efforts, and create memorable experiences that reflect our mission and values. If you're a people-person with a passion for storytelling and community impact, this is your opportunity to blend creativity, strategy, and heart to help shape vibrant communities, elevate our brand presence, and grow alongside a collaborative, purpose-driven team.

Position Overview

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Lead the Credit Union’s community engagement strategy, aligning activities with the annual budget and business goals. Prepare monthly reports and a year-end summary to showcase community impact.
  • Evaluate and fulfill sponsorship requests, managing all related logistics including staffing, setup/teardown, and post-event reporting.
  • Oversee community-related marketing efforts, including corporate engagement initiatives, and represent the Credit Union at chamber events, civic functions, and outreach programs.
  • Coordinate internal events such as the Holiday Party, branch grand openings, the Annual Meeting, and special member events like Used Car Night at the Lookouts.
  • Manage the Kadince event tracking system and maintain the community events calendar. Prepare annual sponsorship reports in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Support content creation and media relations, including press releases, photo shoots, and digital media updates.
  • Assist with general marketing projects and complete required training to stay informed on branch operations and services.
  • Embody our core values of integrity, flexibility, teamwork, and accountability in all community and member interactions.

Team Culture

This position is part of the TVFCU Marketing Department—a team of brand ambassadors, party planners, and visionaries. Whether working behind the scenes or taking center stage, Marketing team members represent the TVFCU brand with professionalism, enthusiasm, and pride.

That means:

  • Representing the credit union with a polished, professional appearance that aligns with our brand standards.
  • Planning and executing key annual events, including the TVFCU Holiday Party and All-Staff Training Day.
  • Leading and supporting community engagement efforts, some of which take place on weekends, evenings, or holidays.
  • Collaborating in person to spark creativity and connection—our team thrives on the energy of face-to-face teamwork in the office.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Event Production preferred; a combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required; familiarity with Kadince, G Suite, WordPress, and Adobe products is a plus.
  • Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills; conversational Spanish is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from planning through execution, including scheduling, logistics, and performance monitoring.
  • Highly organized with strong time management, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, and adaptable with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Skilled at building positive relationships across teams and in the community.
  • Working knowledge of graphic design principles, retail merchandising, online marketing, and market research is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with insurability under company policy; must be able to drive a company vehicle to events.
  • Comfortable performing manual labor independently, including event setup and takedown.
  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends (2–3 events per week).
