POSITION SUMMARY
Education
The qualified applicant must have completed at least a Bachelors Degree from an approved school of Physical Therapy, and hold a current New York State license as a Physical Therapist.
The qualified applicant will demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development.
Experience
It is preferred that the qualified applicant will have completed at least one (1) year of successful direct experience with developmentally disabled children and/or adults in a school setting.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
Objectives:
To develop and implement the school Physical Therapy Program. To participate as a member of the Clinical Team in order to coordinate interdisciplinary efforts.
Specifications:
- To conduct evaluations in order to determine developmental levels, range of motion, muscle testing functions, A.D.L. need and/or use of adaptive equipment, gait analysis, balance and equilibrium.
- To determine treatment priorities, schedules, and procedures for providing therapy service.
- To provide therapy services on an individual and/or small group basis according to the students Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- To maintain appropriate student records including but not limited to attendance, IEP information, initiation, and discharge summaries.
- To issue appropriate adaptive equipment and to develop and supervise classroom therapeutic programs to be implemented by classroom staff and parents.
- To consult with school personnel regarding program recommendations and special equipment considerations.
- To consult with physicians concerning recommendations for program and equipment.
- To maintain and utilized evaluative and therapeutic materials necessary to conduct a Physical Therapy Program.
- To participate in training programs within the school by conducting in-service programs and demonstrations for students, staff, and parents.
- To conduct re-evaluations on each student receiving therapy at least every three years, or as recommended by the Team and/or the child’s school district, and to provide written progress reports as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
