POSITION SUMMARY
The Event Education Program Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing assigned education programs, sessions, and associated resources for PCMA and PCMA’s family of brands conferences and events. These programs provide leadership and business skill development curricula for event professionals in key audience segments. The Event Education Program Manager possesses an understanding and a proven track record of developing impactful educational content focused on adult learning theory, applicable in both face-to-face and digital environments.
This role is accountable for content curation, research, design, delivery, and evaluation of PCMA conference and educational programs, as well as PCMA sessions offered at other organizations’ events as assigned. Essential to this role is managing and collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders to support the content strategy and direction for assigned sessions. This role is also accountable for identifying, negotiating, managing and preparing program presenters/facilitators.
In addition to program content development, the Event Education Program Manager is accountable for writing program descriptions, learner outcomes, and marketing materials, as well as fostering adult learning techniques and environments in the delivery of PCMA’s family of brands education programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Create F2F and digital education programs, products and resources that utilize adult learning principles and interactive delivery formats to provide event professionals with appropriate learning experiences for the subject matter being presented.
- Develop, manage and implement concurrent sessions for the following conferences and education experiences: Convening Leaders, edUcon, CEMA Summit, Business Events Industry Week, Partner Conference, Partner Summit, webinars, and educational content for other industry events as assigned.
- Curate content and research educational topics that address event professionals’ needs and identify emerging industry trends for use in assigned programs.
- Identify, negotiate, and contract professional instructors, speakers, program faculty, facilitators and content experts for assigned programs.
- Write and review program descriptions and learner outcomes to ensure consistency with PCMA guidelines for assigned programs.
- Design educational programs that provide event professionals with best practices, strategies and tangible takeaways they can use in their job responsibilities and for their organization.
- Oversee speaker management, preparation and presentation development for assigned programs.
- Participate in all aspects of the evaluation of PCMA education initiatives, including the design and implementation of the evaluation instrument, questionnaire and the review, analysis and dissemination of feedback data.
- Track program performance measures and vital statistics to form a complete program history for reporting, operational decision-making, identification of trends and future planning.
- Contribute to the online proposal submission and review process.
- Collaborate with PCMA headquarters and chapter project-based volunteers as needed to develop assigned programs, products, and services, and meet program objectives.
- Oversee and work with approved PCMA vendors, service providers and technology solutions.
- Develop, update, and maintain SOPs for all areas of responsibility as needed.
