Description

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Part Time CRNA to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals//Lincoln.  The department averages 160 cases are per week, supported by an active and dynamic OB team that performed 1,580 deliveries last year. The hospital boasts 8 main operating rooms (ORs), 2 cystoscopy rooms, 2 labor and delivery ORs, 2 endoscopy suites, and 1 interventional radiology room. The case load spans a wide range, primarily bread-and-butter (B&B) cases, but also includes healthy pediatrics, obstetrics, neurology, thoracic, vascular, orthopedics, ENT, and trauma. NYC Health +Hospitals/Lincoln is located just 15 minutes from NYC, and is an acute care teaching hospital academically affiliated with Weill-Cornell Medical College.

Purpose of Position:  
Under general direction, performs or directly supervises the provision of the professional general or specialty medical work of ordinary difficulty.  Performs all related work.
Functions/Responsibilities: 
•    Administering anesthesia during operating room (OR) cases
•    Performing airway management, including intubation of patients for surgical procedures
•    Administering pain medication and emergency medications during procedures
•    Performing regional and general anesthetic techniques
•    Monitoring patients during surgical procedures
•    Managing recovery from anesthesia
•    Handling all anesthesia reaction emergencies during and after procedures
•    Overseeing patients in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU)
•    Obtaining lab samples, including ABGs if needed
•    Completing appropriate documentation during and after surgical procedures
•    Looking through your patients' chart for warning signs of possible anesthesia reactions
•    Developing an individualized anesthesia plan of care for each patient
•    Obtaining informed consent from patients before procedures
•    Ensuring all equipment is functioning properly
•    Confirming the anesthesia chart is appropriately stocked
•    Confirming the malignant hyperthermia cart is stocked and readily available
•    Educating patients and families on the anesthesia process and pain management strategies
 

Qualifications

  • Current NYS RN License and Registration, BSN, and MSN
  • Board Certification by the NBCRNA required within the first year of hire

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $250,000* to $260,000* (based on years of experience) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $275,000** and $286,000** (based on years of experience), which includes the baseline salary, 401 (k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $98,800***.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
