Lead Clinical Laboratory Technologist 4

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Lead Clinical Lab Technologist 4 to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health.  South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor & delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services—from primary and preventive care to specialty services for children and adults—all designed to keep our community healthy.

Opportunity Details:

• Tour 2 (daytime). Rotate weekend shifts.
• Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures, accession specimens and orders into the LIS, separate specimens for distribution to all laboratory departments, perform tests which require the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility, with a minimal supervision by the director or supervisor, in only those specialties or subspecialties in which they are qualified by education, training and experience.
• Knowledgeable about the contents of the policies and procedures (including changes) relevant to the scope of their testing activities.
• Perform bench work on basis of laboratory needs for optimal patient care and does supervisory functions, as needed.
• Manage proficiency testing (PT) and ensure that PT samples are treated like patients and quality controls, introduced in routine workflow, rotated amongst the staff and data is properly entered, reviewed, and submitted.
• Ensure evaluation report is monitored.

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology or Associate degree in clinical laboratory science or medical technology program.
• Clinical Laboratory Technologist License issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in clinical laboratory or a minimum of 4 years of experience with a Master’s degree.
