Description

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) has an opportunity for a Healthcare Recruiter to support Correctional Health Services (CHS), which is part of NYC Health + Hospitals, the largest public health system in the United States.  This opportunity will support the staffing needs at Rikers Island in the Bronx, New York's largest correctional facility.

Objectives of this role

  • Work closely with managers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s hiring needs for every role and to meet competitive hiring goals and expectations.
  • Manage the full recruiting across a variety of open roles, helping managers find, hire, and retain quality candidates.
  • Foster high-touch relationships using a database of qualified candidates to choose from when positions become open.
  • Partner with recruiting team and senior managers to design, refine, and implement innovative recruitment strategies.
  • Remain active with job boards, social networks, and platforms for finding quality candidates, and create and post job descriptions and announcements.

Responsibilities

  • Achieves staffing objectives by recruiting and evaluating job candidates.
  • Determines applicant requirements by studying job description and job qualifications.
  • Determines applicant qualifications by screening applicants resume, analyzing responses, verifying references, and comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Develop relationships with managers to build awareness of their departments, hiring needs, and job specifications
  • Utilize knowledge of multiple recruiting sources and execute innovative strategies to find quality candidates and prospect for new business
  • Screen resumes and CVs and manage job candidates throughout hiring process
  • Providing recruitment reports to team managers.
  • Post vacancies on recruitment platforms and career boards
  • Establish and maintain a solid working relationship with schools, colleges, universities and residency/fellowship programs for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Posting jobs and organizing resumes and job applications on career board and recruitment inbox.
  • Manage email campaigns, job fairs (both internal and external), open houses, employee referral programs and other special events.
  • Pro-actively recruits both active and passive candidates
  • May perform other duties, as assigned. 

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing, business, or other health-related fields.
  2. Minimum 3 years previous experience in human resources or recruitment role in a healthcare environment.
  3. Proven skills in the evaluation of candidates. Excellent judgement skills.
  4. Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) required.
  5. High attention to detail. Ability to maintain high standards despite pressing deadlines.
  6. Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to unexpected events, prioritize and multi-task in a deadline driven environment.
