Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church is pleased to announce a search for an Executive Director of Spiritual Formation. This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all adult Spiritual Formation Ministries, which include adult discipleship, Caring and Serving, and Connections & Hospitality. The Executive Director will supervise and hire Spiritual Formation staff as needed, develop and manage budgets, and oversee the entire framework for the Adult Spiritual Pathway. Additionally, the role involves recruiting and managing Adult Discipleship materials and classes, writing and teaching adult discipleship materials, and coordinating various group studies and curriculum reviews. The Executive Director will also create and monitor a strategic plan, manage communication requests, and provide support to Discipleship leaders. This position requires performing pastoral care duties and providing regular reports to the Executive Ministry Team and Leadership Board.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Oversees and coordinates all adult Spiritual Formation Ministries, encompassing adult discipleship, Caring and Serving, Connections & Hospitality. 
  • Supervises and hires as needed Spiritual Formation staff related to ministries above. 
  • In coordination with ministry leads, develops and manages the budget for the ministries above. 
  • Oversees and coordinates entire framework for Adult Spiritual Pathway.  
  • Recruits and manages Adult Discipleship materials and classes, and, where necessary, writes and teaches adult discipleship materials. 
  • Oversees Adult Spiritual Formation group, special studies and church-wide studies including but not limited to Sunday small groups, Bible studies (short-term and long-term, and Life Groups. 
  • Reviews and suggests curriculum. 
  • Creates and monitors a strategic plan.
  • Coordinates room reservations, communication requests and media requests. 
  • Develops relationships and provides support and communication with Discipleship leaders through emails, phone calls and personal meetings. 
  • Recruits and trains leaders on a yearly basis. 
  • Plans and implements Life Group Launches including recruitment and training of leaders. 
  • Manages the Trietsch Zoom accounts and the hybrid rooms including training when needed. 
  • Performs pastoral care duties as needed.
  • Provides weekly and monthly reports to Executive Ministry Team and Leadership Board.
  • Manages and updates the Critical Incident Management Plan including monitoring the availability of training materials.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Christian Ministry, Christian Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership and management experience in a related ministry or church setting.

  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office 365, with preference for FellowshipOne and E-Space.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
