The Region Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for supporting the Region Sales effort by actively Coaching, Supporting, and Helping the TSM’s to achieve their Branch sales goals. This position is for our Southern California Region.
The Region Manager will assign Region Sales and Gross Profit Goals to the RSM as part of Performance Measurement.
The RSM is responsible for meeting with each Branch Manager at least once per month to ensure that Branch sales concerns are being addressed in a timely and effective manner.
The RSM will meet with each TSM, Branch Manager, and CSR at least once every month to review TSM performance, new opportunities and challenges, and assign specific targets for the next month.
The RSM will work closely with the TSM’s, Branch Managers, and CSR’s to support all branch sales efforts. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, accompanying TSM’s on Sales Calls, working alongside CSR’s on the sales counter, implementing the Dealer Program, ensuring all dealers are on-boarded asap, promotions are communicated to all TSM’s, open houses, sales blitzes, and supporting all branch marketing efforts.
RSM is to ride along with each TSM a minimum of once per Quarter for the purpose of assessing and coaching TSM’s effectiveness at finding opportunities and gaining customer commitment.
The position requires specialized Product Knowledge, use of the Company computer system (Mincron), ability to use Microsoft Office products like Excel, and other Company tools like SMP (a CRM/BI application), video conferencing like Zoom and Teams, etc.
The position requires the ability to set goals, plan time and tasks effectively, communicate clearly verbally and in writing. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are absolutely required because of the need to manage a geographically dispersed sales team.
The RSM Position requires excellent time management skills, the ability to travel to all Customer officees and job sites, Geary Pacific locations and occasionally to supplier’s / Vendors, Trade Shows and Industry Conventions. There may be some exposure to injury because of being on job sites or in warehouses or distribution centers. Travel is typically by vehicle and/or airline and may mean leaving home very early in the morning and/or arriving home very late at night in order to spend the necessary time with TSM’s, Customers or Vendors during their normal business hours.
RSM’s must be proficient in the use of technology tools like a PC, iPad, and smartphone, and be able to train TSM’s on available technology tools to demonstrate to Customers as part of presenting the Geary Pacific Value Proposition.
