POSITION SUMMARY: Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory (RMCF) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our Data & Analytics team. This position is ideal for a recent graduate from a business or computer information systems program who is eager to begin a career in business intelligence and data analytics. You will be responsible for pulling, transforming, and analyzing data from a variety of systems to support key business functions across retail, manufacturing, and franchising. The role emphasizes Microsoft technologies, especially Power BI, Dynamics Business Central and Power Platform tools.

 

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Extract, transform, and load data from point-of-sale (POS) systems, ERP platforms (primarily Microsoft Dynamics Business Central).
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and document daily data loads to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries to support reporting and ad hoc data analysis.
  • Create compelling and actionable Power BI reports using shared data models and visuals, support business decisions with clear, insightful analytics.
  • Learn to develop and enhance Power BI semantic models (datasets), including measures, calculated columns, and relationships.
  • Assist with training and supporting business users, helping them to effectively use self-service BI tools and interpret reports.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments including finance, operations, franchise support, and marketing to understand data needs and deliver solutions.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Learn and apply Power Platform tools including Power Automate to streamline business processes.
  • Contribute to documentation of BI processes, standards, and data definitions.
  • Participate in the evaluation and integration of modern data tools and technologies, such as Python scripting.
  • Support continuous improvement of analytics infrastructure and data governance efforts.
  • Assist in cross-functional project teams as needed.
