Production Worker-2 WDC Shipping

InterMetro Industries, a global leader in the manufacturing of storage solutions, is seeking a full-time Shipping/Receiving Associate for its Wilkes-Barre PA Distribution Center. Associates are required to have the ability to perform all job duties within the Distribution Center to provide proper support to its operations. The candidate selected for this position must successfully complete screening requirements and a probationary period of 400 working hours. Please note that the opportunity is part of a bargaining unit rooted in seniority principles. Consequently, shifts are not guaranteed. Applicants should be available to work any shift.

Job Responsibilities

• Receives products or materials into the Distribution Center by unloading carriers or containers and putting products into inventory.
• Assists with the management of inventory through proper selecting operations and reporting of inventory discrepancies.
• Picks product or material based on customer orders and transport same to loading or staging areas.
• Loads carriers and containers as required.
• Working by hand, or with hand equipment, loads or unloads containers which are not palletized.
• In preparing orders, makes and applies labels.
• Uses a computer to locate products or materials as needed.  
• Inspects product and/or packaging for quality.
• Meets production and quality standards.
• Must successfully complete the certification process for material handling equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, sit down forklifts and stand-up high reach forklifts. 
• Cleans and/or maintains cleanliness of department and general work environment.
• Repetitive lifting is required on a daily basis
• Performs other duties as assigned..

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience operating forklifts.
• Ability to work in a team-based environment.
• Expected to maintain regular attendance.
