Your Impact in This Role

The Director of Revenue Management is responsible for the strategy direction and implementation of revenue strategies for all Merete managed hotels in conjunction with the leadership team, general managers, and sales leaders. This role is responsible for understanding business analytics, and analyzing data and trends to maximize revenue, profits, and increase market share. The Director of Revenue Management will independently make daily pricing and inventory decisions that result in positive business outcomes and revenue gains by providing valuable insights and recommendations. This Director of Revenue Management will use revenue management expertise, industry knowledge, and market intelligence to anticipate challenges, provide strategic approaches, create solutions, and make optimal business decisions for hotels. This position reports to the Corporate Director of Sales.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Be responsible for the consistent execution of the Revenue Management strategy, systems, tools, and processes of the entire portfolio. 
  • Understand and forecast market trends and position, relative to competitors, ensuring all hotels in the impacted area are properly positioned.
  • Demonstrate an expert-level understanding of national hotel brands' revenue management systems and requirements, as well as 3rd party distribution channels and marketing platforms.
  • Ability to assist with internet marketing campaigns and GDS advertising. 
  • Conduct and create strategies in performance & analysis reporting, short-term forecasts, sellout management, inventory, and pricing 90-day and all high-demand dates.
  • Report on business optimization studies, marketing and customer behavior, competitive intelligence, forecasting and statistical data, and participate in annual budgeting planning. 
  • Understand and identify brand pricing, promotional, marketing, and eCommerce initiatives and recommendations that should be implemented for compliance and to maximize revenues.
  • Reviews, and is responsible for, group selling strategies to ensure proper inventory is being sold and leads business review meetings with sales staff as appropriate. 
  • Anticipate future industry and economic trends or threats and offer strategic direction to mitigate revenue shortfalls.
  • Serve as a liaison between General Managers, Regional Sales teams, and brand Revenue Managers in the development, execution, and measurement of the strategic plan for all market segments and room revenue streams. 
  • Ensure a strategic mix of business, pricing strategy, and distribution plan is set for each property based on current market conditions.
  • Participate in the development of the annual business plan, providing guidance on the mix of sales, competitive positioning, and overall strategic vision to achieve the desired performance.
  • Preparation of regular and special reporting as may be required by CDOS or VP of Operations. 
  • Provides communication of results and challenges to stakeholders. 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or necessary.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 5+ years in a revenue management position with multi-unit and multi-brand experience
  • Systems knowledge of at least one major brand (IHG, Marriott, or Hilton)
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Ability to read and interpret reports including but not limited to, STR, Kalibri Labs, Agency 360, Demand 360, CRM reporting, and hotels specific and brand reports
  • A two- or four-year degree in Hospitality Management, Business or a related major
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time
