We are seeking an innovative, resilient, and driven educator to join our team as a Middle School Humanities Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year at Liberty Collegiate Academy.
What You’ll Do
As a Middle School Humanities Teacher, your work will focus on the following:
Drive Academic Excellence
- Develop and deliver engaging, inquiry-based English Language Arts and Social Studies lessons that foster deep reading, analytical writing, and critical thinking.
- Use data-driven instruction to monitor scholar progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure mastery of literacy and historical analysis skills.
- Cultivate a love for reading, writing, and historical exploration while empowering scholars to engage with diverse perspectives.
Foster a Collaborative Culture
- Partner with colleagues to design interdisciplinary projects that connect literature, history, and current events.
- Participate in weekly professional development, embracing constructive feedback to continuously refine your teaching craft.
- Share best practices and resources with colleagues to foster a school-wide culture of academic rigor and intellectual curiosity.
Provide Specialized Support
- Use primary sources, literature, and culturally relevant materials to make learning engaging and meaningful.
- Incorporate discussion-based learning, Socratic seminars, and project-based assessments to deepen scholar engagement.
- Stay informed on educational best practices and emerging literacy and social studies instructional strategies.
Cultivate Meaningful Relationships
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with scholars, families, and colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive school environment.
- Communicate frequently with families regarding scholar progress, fostering a partnership in their child’s success.
- Encourage scholars to explore debate, journalism, creative writing, and history-based extracurricular opportunities.
