The City of Wentzville is seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to oversee advanced and complex capital improvement projects from development through completion. This position operates with a high level of independence and serves as a subject matter expert in project management, contract administration, and capital improvements.
Essential Job Duties
- Provide respectful, professional, and positive service in all interactions with co-workers, internal and external customers, community members, and the public.
- Maintain a productive and compliant work environment in alignment with City, Department, and Division goals, policies, and procedures.
- Administer construction and design contracts to ensure compliance with contract terms, City standards, and county and state requirements.
- Develop standardized specifications and incorporate them into comprehensive contract documents for projects and services.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance departmental performance.
- Prepare and compile documents and data for outside funding sources, including project descriptions, maps, plans, cost estimates, accident data, pavement condition reports, and letters of support.
- Develop Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) and participate in the selection process for professional service consultants on capital improvement projects.
- Prepare reports, agreements, and draft legal documentation for easement and right-of-way acquisitions; participate in and negotiate acquisition terms.
- Serve as the City’s subject matter expert and liaison for capital improvement projects, including acting as a construction inspector.
