Position Summary: 

 

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant performs the day-to-day accounting functions of the Agency.  He/she must possess the requisite skills necessary to ensure that Linwood’s standards for excellence are met or exceeded.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepare monthly internal financial reporting.
  2. Month end closing process
  3. Prepare and assist with agency annual budgets and special projects.
  4. Monitor and tracking budgets for all services programs
  5. Assist with payroll processes and analysis as needed
  6. Assist with 401K deferrals and analysis
  7. Maintain and reconcile Fixed Assets and depreciation
  8. Manage general ledger accounts and bank accounts reconciliation.
  9. Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and related supporting documentation.
  10. Assist with accounts payable as needed.  Ensures invoices are paid in a timely manner and that all documentation is scanned and verified.
  11. Provides information to management in areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other accounting functions. 
  12. Collaborated with Supervisors and other department leaders.
  13. Scanning, filing and document retention.
  14. Performs general office duties, assists with daily projects and performs other duties as needed.
  15. May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

  • Must possess a Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Business or four years of coursework in related subjects.
  • Must have experience and/or demonstrate competence in all aspect of accounting and financial matters.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required, including proficiency with advanced functions of Microsoft Excel. Experience with QuickBooks accounting Software is preferred.
  • Must also demonstrate analytical and organizational skills with superior attention to detail and an ability to set priorities.
