Description

RISE provides services for people with disabilities in our Adult Day Program Opportunity Centers. Our mission is to create opportunities for and with people.
This encompasses not only individuals and families for whom we provide services and supports to, but also employees and stakeholders. We believe in the individuals, families and employees who are part of our organization and that opportunities can and should be created through all of our actions.

We are hiring Direct Support Professional's that are able to be Drivers. Must be 21+ years old and have a clean driving record. 

This position includes but is not limited to assisting people with transportation, mobility, daily living, hygiene, meal prep, and behavioral supports.

  • Provide assistance to people receiving support through the implementation of the RISE mission, vision, and values.
  • Demonstrate respect and promote choice.
  • Promote the rights of people receiving support and contribute to an environment that is free of abuse, neglect and or exploitation.
  • Support people in achieving outcomes identified in the person’s plan. This includes keeping required documentation and any other prescribed or related task.
  • Successfully complete RISE designated driver’s safety training and be familiar with RISE transportation policy
  • Must have current CPR/first aid
  • Obtain a Personal Identification Number (PIN) for vehicle fuel cards
  • Drivers are required to drive while on shift
  • Drivers are obligated to provide transportation at any time while working
  • Act as an appropriate role model and support people in using appropriate language, dress, table manners, respect, and other behavior as needed.
  • Ensure that clean and safe environments are maintained
  • Quickly and effectively respond to emergency situations such as fire, application of First Aid, CPR, approved medical protocols, behavior intervention, etc.
  • Follow RISE personnel practices and policies which include (but are not limited to:
    1. Reporting to work on time as scheduled
    2. Refraining from excessive absenteeism
    3. Obtaining prior approval by following established procedures when time off is desired including reporting to supervisor (per RISE policy) for absence from work.
    4. Work all hours as scheduled
    5. Attend staff meetings and other mandatory training as required by RISE.
  • Follow all RISE and State policies and procedures
  • Maintain necessary records, logs, and other documentation as required per ISPP, RISE policy and State requirements

Qualifications

  • Experience and education in the field of developmental disabilities or related field preferred
  • Must have a desire and interest in working with people with disabilities or special needs
  • Must be over twenty-one (21) years to drive a RISE vehicle and meet other requirements as specified by the RISE Insurance Agency
  • Must have a current and clear Arizona State Driver’s license
  • Supply RISE with a current motor vehicle record for the past three years from the AZ Motor Vehicle Division or from Navajo Nation Driving Record if employed within Navajo Nation.
  • Must have verbal and written communication skills adequate to the specific job.
  • Satisfactory background check and obtain Level One Fingerprint Card clearance
  • Specific language abilities (other than English) may be required to meet the needs of people/families receiving support, and demonstrate a knowledge of and respect for cultural differences
  • Reliable transportation to the work site and access to a telephone
