SUMMARY OF POSITION

As a Marketing Social Media Intern, you will play an integral role in enhancing Alco Management’s online presence and strengthening our digital voice across key social media platforms. Working closely with the Marketing Team, you will assist in developing and executing engaging, community-focused content that reflects our brand values. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, ideal for individuals looking to grow their skills in digital marketing and social media strategy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

 

  • Create and manage a 6-month content calendar for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
  • Develop compelling short-form videos and eye-catching graphics that highlight our communities and residents.
  • Design social media graphics, flyers, and branded content for community events, holidays, and announcements.
  • Monitor inboxes, respond to comments and DMs, and act as a community manager on social platforms.
  • Analyze and report on social trends and performance, including competitor content audits.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all social pages and links.
  • Stay ahead of trends, bringing fresh, relevant ideas that engage and inspire our diverse audience.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on campaigns, promotions, and resident engagement initiatives.
  • Join or create local Facebook groups and engage as a brand ambassador
  • Subscribe to and monitor newsletters in the cities and regions where we have communities.

 

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

  • 1–2 years of experience in content creation, whether through a personal brand, academic projects, freelance work, or similar hands-on experience
  • Confident both on camera and behind it, with the ability to film, photograph, edit, and publish purposeful content
  • Strong proficiency in major social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and/or LinkedIn
  • A proactive team player who can also work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision
  • Up-to-date with current social media trends, tools, memes, and platform best practices
  • Proficient in Canva; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • A keen eye for visual design and storytelling
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a creative approach to messaging. 

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Based in the Memphis area, with the ability to work on-site at 24 hours per week.
  • Flexible hours and a hybrid work environment.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
  • Willing and able to travel up to 100 miles for on-site content creation (mileage reimbursement provided)
  • Access to a personal smartphone and computer equipped for social media management, graphic design, and video editing
  • Availability for occasional travel (approximately 10–15%) as part of the role.

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

The Social Media Marketing Intern will work closely with the Marketing Team, Property Managers, Site Staff, Other Internal Departments, and Social Media Platforms/Representatives.
