Job Description:

Broad River Retail is hiring an experienced Furniture Craftsman for the Spartanburg, SC area.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for assessing damages and repairing proficiently with appropriate methods of repair for multiple types of furniture. This position reports to Assistant Manager/Supervisor of Quality Control.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assessing damages and repairing proficiently with appropriate methods of case goods, leather, marble and upholstery furniture,
• Maintain building and grounds cleanliness and safe work environment.
• Keep accurate records of work performed to assist in statistical record keeping.
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Work Schedule:

• Full Time
• Monday - Friday
• 9:00am - 5:30pm

Minimum Required Education, Experience & Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be comfortable with manual labor
• Experience with color matching & blending.
• Experience with case goods repairs including burn-ins & wood graining.
• Leather repairs including scuffs, holes and tears.
• Upholstery repairs including structural/mechanism replacements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with power and hand tools
• High level of attention to detail and professionalism.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent listening skills and the ability to work independently and with a team.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and/or electronically
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to push or pull heavy objects using up to 50 pounds of force
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to use fine motor skills to operate equipment and/or machinery
• Ability to properly drive and/or operate a forklift or other company vehicle
• Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and/or complex problem solving
