Description

The Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, support, and optimization of the organization’s core IT infrastructure—including servers, networks, storage systems, and cloud environments. In a healthcare setting, this role ensures the reliability, security, and performance of systems that support clinical operations, administrative applications, financial systems, marketing applications, and compliance applications, including critical EHR integrations and EHR Optimization. In addition to deep technical expertise, the ideal candidate brings project management capabilities and excellent collaboration skills, serving as an operational liaison between IT and all organizational departments to ensure technology solutions align with business goals, regulatory requirements, and patient care standards.

Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions

IT Infrastructure Oversight & System Support

  • Manage core infrastructure systems across:
  • Administrative platforms (e.g., HRIS, scheduling)
  • Financial systems (e.g., ERP, billing)
  • Marketing tools (e.g., CMS, CRM, Philanthropy, website)
  • Compliance and governance systems (e.g., HIPAA reporting, audit platforms)
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and clinical interfaces\integrations
  • Ensure system availability, interoperability, and high performance across all Environments

Operational Liaison Role

  • Act as a strategic and operational bridge between IT and business units to translate department needs into actionable technical solutions.
  • Participate in planning and strategy meetings with clinical, compliance, finance, administrative, and marketing leaders.
  • Communicate technical updates and infrastructure impacts clearly to nontechnical stakeholders.

Project Management & Collaboration

  • Lead and contribute to IT infrastructure projects from planning through execution (e.g., upgrades, migrations, rollouts).
  • Use project management tools and methods to scope, schedule, document, and track progress.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely delivery and successful adoption of new systems or improvements.
  • Coordinate vendor activities, contract support, and external resources as needed.

IT Infrastructure Management

  • Manage Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Intune environments, including device management, compliance enforcement, and policy deployment.
  • Maintain Hyper-V virtual environments and assist in managing hybrid cloud services (Azure/AWS).
  • Ensure backup, recovery, and continuity plans are implemented and tested.
  • Oversee physical network infrastructure (e.g., switches, cabling, patch panels) and perform routine inspections.
  • Support endpoint configuration, updates, and security enforcement through Intune.
  • Administer core Windows and hybrid Active Directory services, including DNS, DHCP, GPO, and file systems.
  • Monitor system performance and logs, respond to alerts, and remediate infrastructure issues proactively.
  • Partner with cybersecurity to apply system hardening, patching, and compliance measures (HIPAA, HITECH).
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure systems and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in audits and demonstrate IT controls for internal and regulatory requirements.

Travel Required

Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation that meets the organization’s Driver Policy. Travel is required to provide services in different settings and to attend agency meetings, events and trainings.

Qualifications & Benefits

Required Education, Experience & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree requirement.
  • At least 3 years of experience in system/network administration or infrastructure support
  • Experience with Windows Server and/or Linux administration
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, firewalls, etc.)
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Experience in environments with layered IT support teams

Preferred Education, Experience & Competencies:

  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, or AWS
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, MCSA, or VMware VCP
  • Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, Nagios, SolarWinds)

Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; occasional travel to agency sites required
  • Availability for after-hours support during emergencies or planned maintenance

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to lift to 20 lbs. for IT hardware transport and setup
  • Willingness to travel between healthcare sites as needed
  • Availability to support after-hours maintenance or emergency response
