Position Overview
The Adult Pottery Teacher will lead engaging and educational 10- week pottery wheel classes for adult students of varying experience levels. This instructor will provide hands-on instruction in wheel-throwing techniques, surface decoration, glazing, and firing processes, while fostering a supportive and creative studio environment.
Schedule Monday -Thursday 6:30pm - 7:30pm
Responsibilities
- Teach adult pottery classes focused on wheel-throwing techniques, including centering, pulling, trimming, and finishing.
- Offer demonstrations and individualized instruction tailored to each student’s skill level.
- Oversee proper use and maintenance of pottery wheels, tools, and studio equipment.
- Prepare materials and ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and ready for each session.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage artistic growth.
- Manage the glazing and firing process, ensuring safe kiln operation.
- Promote a welcoming, inclusive environment that encourages creativity and exploration.
- Assist with class promotion, student communications, and studio policies as needed.
