Description

Behavior analyst’s primary duties are conducting behavior assessments, designing behavior plans that are logically related to assessment results, overseeing the implementation of these plans, monitoring progress, and making modifications as needed. To accomplish this, and meet regulatory responsibilities, behavior analysts will:

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow policies, procedures and rules of the organization.
  • Serve as role model and demonstrate, encourage and offer direction in fairness, consistency, attentiveness, ability to work with others, appropriate dress and appearance, and effective conflict resolution.
  • Treat all clients, parents, guardians, co-workers, supervisors and people in the community with respect and dignity.
  • Maintain confidentiality of those we serve.
  • Submit plans and obtain approval from peer review on schedule.
  • Submit data case reviews for peer review as requested.
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual summaries on schedule.
  • Train staff on proper implementation of behavior plans.
  • Monitor implementation of plans in all settings, provide feedback to staff, and on-going training.
  • Provide a weekly average of 30 minutes of program monitoring per client in residential settings.
  • Work closely with clients to implement behavior plans, set goals, provide reinforcement, develop rapport, and assist/oversee the use of reactive strategies. 
  • Participate in support and management team meetings.
  • Participate in weekly Behavior Services team meetings, and bi-monthly Analyst meetings.
  • Assist with staff pre-service and annual recertification trainings, primarily Behavior 20 and the reactive strategy curriculum.
  • Model prosocial behavior, interact supportively and professionally with families.
  • Interact with medical staff where behavioral and medical issues intersect, and strongly advocate for the best medical care possible.
  • Assist colleagues within program when needed.
  • Honor commitments.
  • Report suspected abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation.
  • Obtain and maintain all trainings required by regulatory and funding agencies.
  • Maintain Board certification.
  • Actively provide supervision to Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs) and/or Behavior Technicians (BTs), along with Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and related staff persons/ stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s Degree from accredited college.
  • Current certification with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB; https://www.bacb.com/) – BCBA or BCaBA
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual or other developmental disabilities preferred.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & WORK HABIT REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize.
  • Ability to effectively direct and supervise subordinates.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware and applications.

The employee may be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 30 pounds; drive a motor vehicle; bend, squat, or kneel.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
