Assistant Professor Computer Science/Cyber Security

Friends University invites applications for a one-year, full-time special appointment faculty position in Computer Science and Cyber Security, beginning August 2025. This non-tenure track role offers an exciting opportunity to join a student-focused department committed to academic excellence, innovation, and experiential learning, with the potential to convert to permanent tenure-track after the 2025-26 academic year.

The successful candidate will teach a range of undergraduate computer science courses, which may include programming, data structures, software engineering, databases, and cybersecurity. Responsibilities include teaching a standard load of courses, advising students, participating in departmental meetings, and supporting curriculum development as needed.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong teaching ability, a passion for mentoring students, and an interest in contributing to a collaborative and evolving program. Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field required; Ph.D. preferred
• Evidence of effective teaching at the undergraduate level
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
