Job Summary

In correlation with the Head Coach, the Men’s and Women’s Track & Field / Cross Country performs duties relative to the daily functions of the Track and Field/Cross country Program. Works independently and with minimal supervision from the head coach to instruct student athletes in various aspects of the athletic discipline and sports performance.

  • Independently provides on the field instruction in team concepts, safety and athletic performance
  • Independently develops and instructs the off-season and in-season strength and conditioning programs for student athletes
  • Instructs skill development opportunities for individual players and positions
  • Instruct students athletes to maintain equipment and playing courts of the facility
  • Develops and instructs athletes on independently made training practice plans
  • Assists the other track and field/ cross country coaches with recruiting
  • Assist the university in implementing the Statement of Purpose
  • Assist the university in implementing the long-range institutional and financial plans

 

 

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of Track & Field requirements and ability to provide positive input for the team
  • Limited ability to use common office productivity software
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a collegiate track & field participant or coach

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to withstand the physical demands of track & field coaching
  • Must have ability to demonstrate skill development drills
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. of equipment
  • Should be in good overall physical shape
  • Should have a good, strong voice
