Job Summary:
SEGA’s Commercial Strategy Team supports the SEGA business by analyzing a wealth of information to create insights for the business planning team and wider management structure. The team support internal partners across the company by answering business-related questions and informing decision-making, often in fast-paced settings.
The Commercial Analyst plays a key role by providing sales forecasts and pricing analysis at the product level, maximizing our sales forecast accuracy by using external and internal data streams. They collaborate with a variety of internal teams while using data and reasoning to project product demand and provide meaningful recommendations to internal stakeholders. They understand business objectives, have insights into prospective customers’ preferences, and are comfortable evaluating market data using software and statistical techniques.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research and develop forecasts for commercial product planning
- Identify, gather, and analyze data from various sources to identify trends, develop insights, and answer business questions
- Identify key competitors and their strategies by monitoring and analyzing their activity
- Develop tools and techniques to improve forecasting processes, track and report on key performance indicators
- Partner with internal and external partners (e.g. research teams, studios, publishing) for product and service planning
- Create detailed presentation materials detailing research, forecasts, and insights for internal and external parties
- Present forecasts and analyses to inform and influence project stakeholders through data-backed methodologies and convincing reasoning
- Stay up to date on market trends, consumer and product research, and industry best practices
- Assist with yearly comprehensive report on the gaming market
- Other duties as assigned.
- Working in-office is an essential function of this position. This requirement of face-to-face interaction is in place to ensure effective supervision, collaboration, and teamwork. In-office attendance is required for the following reasons:
- For effective supervision of employees and our work product, which includes ensuring all employees have necessary oversight of their work and access to supervisory assistance, which includes meetings to review work product, deadlines, and status.
