This role will be on first shift from 6 am - 2:30 pm.

Keytronic Oakdale, MN facility is seeking General Assembler. Must be detail orientated and able to read and understand written and verbal instructions. Manual labeling, printing manual placed labels, prep components for printed circuit boards, may conduct a variety of tests on electronic components for failures and quality, packing of orders following final build processes, in an assembly environment.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)

  • Taping/Masking of parts on printed circuit boards to prepare the boards for various coating processes.
  • Manual labeling, printing manual placed labels, helping out with various tasks in all departments.
  • Forms and inspects component leads as necessary per documentation and IPC workmanship standards using prep machines and hand tools.
  • Assemble and stuff components into printed circuit boards based on verbal and written instructions. Inspects component parts prior to assembly and rejects defective parts.
  • Performing quality inspections at each stage to ensure product is built per customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Must understand test processes in a contract manufacturing environment. Capability of building and testing assemblies/products that are being built.
  • Performs assembly of materials into product cartons. Completes pre-assembly work of stocking assembly lines, applies labels, collates materials, and assembles materials into packages. Follows oral instructions and package samples to complete assembly assignments.
  • Operation of manual and automated assembly equipment such as; Amistar label machine, Dispenser (RTV), Universal auto insertion, ovens, torque drives, etc.
  • Attention to detail during hand coating / touch up / inspection
  • All other duties assigned by lead / supervisor

 

SUPERVISION GIVEN/RECEIVED

Is supervised by the Director of Manufacturing and General Assembly Supervisor and has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, talk, hear, and see. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach with hands and arms. The environment is fast-paced, time pressured, and requires accuracy. The employee will regularly multi-task between projects, be required to move throughout the office building and production floor. Effectively communicate orally and written. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Qualifications

  • A high school education or equivalent
  • At least one year of relevant work experience.
  • Successful completion of ESD Safety training and IPC-A-610 certification with additional cross training
  • Ability to recognize problems in the operation process or with components and to highlight/communicate those problems to Team Leader.
  • Good vision (will use a microscope), hand coordination and manual dexterity are required.
  • Ability to read, write and otherwise communicate effectively in English.
  • Must be able to read and understand work routers, bill of materials, assembly drawings, component identification, and component polarity.
  • Ability to handle a high volume work load and house cleaning
  • Basic PC Knowledge.
