Position Summary

Workforce Coordinator I is a key operations-facing role within the Workforce Department. This position supports real-time labor coordination, project staffing, and internal labor tracking across active projects. It requires a high level of responsiveness, organization, and communication with field teams, superintendents, and workforce leadership.  It is a critical operations support and shared services function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily assignment and deployment of internal and leased labor.
  • Communicate jobsite assignments and onboarding statuses to field leadership.
  • Maintain the Workforce Tracker (assigned, unassigned, loaned in/out, LOA, etc.)
  • Verify orientation, licensing, and onboarding readiness 48 hours prior to deployment.
  • Ensure project agreements are completed, signed, and submitted to Payroll before starting.
  • Partner with TA, HR, and Payroll to confirm all hiring steps are cleared.
  • Escalate delays or conflicts in assignments to Director of Workforce.
  • Track badge expirations and assist with licensing compliance.
  • Participate in labor alignment meetings and provide workforce readiness updates.
  • Assist with coordination of field training and special events (IEC, CEF, high schools, etc.)
  • Provide strong customer service support to internal teams and job site leadership.
  • Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and provide communication support as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects and smooth operation of department.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2–4 years of experience in workforce coordination, scheduling, or field operations (construction industry preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with workforce systems or trackers
  • Previous experience in fast-paced, deadline-driven operations or field support role.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
  • Ability to operate independently and prioritize in a high-volume environment
  • Professional and effective verbal/written communication
  • Familiarity with workforce and labor classifications, licensing, and job site compliance
  • Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Paycom), SharePoint, and Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to escalate when appropriate
  • Customer service mindset with field awareness
  • Knowledge of office systems and procedures including record keeping, calendaring, and reporting
  • Must be able to pass drug and background check
  • Must be available to work in-person daily (this is not a remote position)

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

  8. The employee may be required to climb stairs.
  9. Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night or weekend shifts, as needed.
